I had a super realistic nightmare, and even now I feel chills down my spine.
In the dream, my friends and I were suddenly targeted by a mixed “monster squad” of zombies, bats, and vampires. They came at us from all directions. We ran for our lives and finally burst into a roadside building. The place was strange – it looked like a shop, but the shelves were mostly empty, the lighting was dim, and the atmosphere was eerily off.
Inside sat an old lady. Desperate, I rushed to her for help, but she completely ignored me – either she couldn’t hear me or she just wouldn’t respond. I was frantic, and the monsters’ banging on the door grew louder. All I could think was: they’re going to break in and eat us.
While we huddled together in terror, someone knocked on the door. I nearly screamed. I dropped to the floor and peeked through the gap under the door – thank goodness, I saw normal shoes and normal human shadows. Summoning my courage, I opened the door. They were just passers‑by. Without a word, my friends and I dashed out and started running again.
I thought we were safe once we left that building – but I was dead wrong. Looking back, the monsters hadn’t disappeared; they were chasing even harder. Ahead of us, a group of people had stopped to check something. I spotted a motorcycle nearby, jumped on, twisted the throttle, and sped off.
The wind roared in my ears, and the snarling behind me gradually faded under the engine’s scream. I raced on and finally managed to shake them off – but that “just barely” escape left me more uneasy than relieved, as if they could pop out from the next corner at any moment…
Now I’m awake, and my heart is still pounding.
Has anyone else had a dream where you think you’ve escaped but it just keeps going? Would love to hear your stories!
